Shared hosting allows multiple websites and accounts to be hosted on one single server. When you purchase a cPanel Hosting plan, we place your website on one of our servers and assign it a unique DNS address. This distinct address allows people all over the world to find and view your website. When you purchase a shared hosting package, you are essentially purchasing space on one of our servers. It’s similar to the space on a computer’s hard drive, but the server allows you to access your website’s files from anywhere.
Shared Hosting is a very cost effecient option for beginner sites, sites that don’t require high performance capabilites, and sites that don’t see large traffic spikes. If you plan on using WordPress, it can be installed on shared hosting, however the performance levels are not the same. WordPress hosting is especially designed to scale resources for significant spikes in traffic. It can support up to 2,000 simultaneous connections, as opposed to 250 for shared hosting.
Sites that utilize HTML, PHP, and MySQL will need cPanel. Sites that utilize ASP, ASP.net, and MySQL will need Plesk.
